In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful

Introduction

Narrated Uthman, Prophet Muhammad () said:

'The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it to others'
(Sahih Al Bukhari vol 6, book 61, no. 545)

Tajweed is the Science of reading Qur'an correctly.
Learning how to recite the Qur'an correctly is an obligatory act upon EVERY Muslim.

This FREE website covers all main areas of Tajweed, each one packed with definition, explanations, examples from the Qur'an, further audio explanations and practical exercises. And all pages are printable allowing you to study away from the computer or with a friend.

This course has been divided into sections helping you to digest the information easily.
Try to master the rules of each section, applying them into your daily reading (even just 15 minutes will help to develop your reading), through practise, practise and more practise before moving onto the next.

Aim to achieve QUALITY rather than quantity!

The ideal way in which to learn how to read with Tajweed is under the guidance of a qualified teacher so that help can be given regarding correct pronunciation and mistakes corrected. The importance of this cannot be under estimated simply because of the requirement to be heard and corrected.

However, having said this, it is recognised that sadly there is a lack of teachers and therefore it is not always possible to study alongside one. If this applies to you, please don’t let this be the reason to discourage you from embarking upon this very rewarding goal. The bare minimum should be that we at least start to gain an understanding of the rules and make an effort to self correct our reading through listening to renowned recitors, such as Sheikh Abdullah Basfar, Sheikh Al Husari and Sheikh Al Hudaifi

Whatever happens, do not despair if the rules initially seem too complex, as I can promise you that it will get easier the more you practise.

As little as 15 minutes a day over a period of time will amount to a great deal, and will soon have you 'reading with tajweed  ' InshaAllah.

Please do note that the website is still under construction with regards to the audio and practise exercises. We are trying to complete it as quickly as possible, and will let you know as soon as everything is complete, inshAllah.

Thank you and Jazakallahu khairan for visiting BDIslam.Com!

Duaa at end of gathering

‘How perfect You are O Allah, and I praise You. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.’
